Exciting news! It's been almost a year since we put out any new recordings and, for the past month and a half, we have been hard at work refining a couple of our latest songs to do just that. Beginning on July 1st we will be recording a couple new tracks at Studio Chicago with Engineer Larry McKay.
We're very excited to release these songs so keep checking back for further information. We'll be posting plenty of photos from the studio to our blog and we'll post the songs to our Myspace once they're ready.
For now, you can still pick up our last EP: Regression on iTunes for only $5.94 by clicking on the link in our discography section or by searching for 'Portocal' in the iTunes store.
Until next time,
Eric

Summer in Chicago Part I
Hey, what up duderz? This is Sam posting for the first time, thought I'd give blogging a try... I can explain 'duderz' by the way. It's what the guy who worked at Gamestop called us while we were looking to buy a video game, so we adopted it into our lingo. We ended up buying Dead Space, which is pretty scary (See picture).
I've also noticed recently that Eric, Ryan, and Byron actually look like they are in a band, and I just look like a scrub. When us four are walking around people usually say "Oh look, there goes a band, and their friend." The other day I tried to remedy this situation by really working on my image, starting with footwear. Let me know what you think:
I guess I just don't get it... I just realized Ryan isn't in any if the pictures I just posted so here:
Alright, until next time.
Sam

March Tour Recap - OH/NJ/CT/NYC
Better late than never, an inside look at Portocal's March Tour. Sorry in advance for some of the blurry photos!
3/5/09 - 3/15/09
Photos by Portocal.
March began with a show on 3/5/09 -- Green Beer Day -- in Oxford, OH. at Top Deck Bar...
The crowd outside of Top Deck.
...From there we hit the open road (all nine hours of it) on Saturday 3/7/09 and headed from Oxford, OH. toward Ewing, NJ...
Ryan driving.
...After driving all day we ended up rolling into our show at the All Call Inn (Ewing, NJ.) about five minutes before we were supposed to go on...
Blurry shot of us setting up at All Call Inn - 3/7/09.
...We left NJ after a great show and headed back to our (Eric and Sam's) homes in CT. We spent the week practicing, playing video games and, most importantly, rekindling our passion for intense games of Guess Who (anyone who has seen us since March can attest to our love of the game!).
Thursday 3/12/09 we played at Billy Baloney's in Danbury, CT. After trying to find the venue for almost an hour (it turned out to be a small room behind a green door without any kind of sign!) we had a great show with our new friends in The Plurals from East Lansing, MI...
Portocal at Billy Baloneys -- 3/12/09.
...At the end of the night, THE Billy from Billy Baloney's asked us to come back the following day -- 3/13/09 -- to open up a show they were having with two awesome bands Kelsey and the Chaos from New York, NY and Pull The Pin from PA. MAKE IT YOUR MISSION TO CHECK THESE BANDS OUT!
Our final show of the tour was in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday 3/14/09 at a really nice bar called Red Star in Greenpoint. Ryan and Byron spent the day wandering around NYC...
...and then we played...
Blurry shot from the stage at Red Star.
...So there you have it, our March tour out to Connecticut. Congratulations if you've made it to the end of this excessively long post! Below are a couple more shots of our car rides to and from Ohio and, as always, there are more photos on our myspace!
Until next time,
Eric
